I couldn’t speak up in a moment like this
You yelled down to me so that I wouldn’t miss:

It feels like I’m dreaming now when I try to think
How you always looked so pretty in sync
With the lights of the railway
how could I resist
The taste of a lamplight geranium kiss
Or the devious endgame swinging your hip

In the back of my eyelids, the bones of your fist
broke through my connection with the rain and it’s tricks
